The park

Adoption update: Fingerprints

It’s funny to think about having to do all the stuff you have to do to adopt a kid, only doing it prior to having a kid the old-fashioned way.

Have you filled out this formal application?

Have you submitted a reference from your employer?

Are your cat’s immunizations up to date?

Yes? Great! Then let’s make a baby!

Fingerprinting is certainly one of those hoops that seems silly, but I’m sure makes sense to someone in the big picture of all of this. And the good news is, we’ve got our fingerprint appointment with USCIS. Or with NCIS. Or CSI: Miami. I’m not sure.

So one day in the next couple weeks, Mary Craig and I will drive 3.5 hours to Charlotte to have our fingerprints made, and then turn around and drive home.

After our fingerprints are done, we’ll fill out our dossier and submit it and then wait and wait and wait. But we’re making progress.
